I don't think that is Thomas Edison. I don't even think he and Chaplin ever met.

Well sorry dear but the picture is authentic. They met in 1929.

I quote: "we recently discovered a connection between two of our iconic clients. Thomas Edison was the first honorary member of the Academy for his contribution to the creation and development of the motion picture —and— Charlie Chaplin signed (below the date October 15, 1929) the official document!"

I know luv, I didn't recognize him either. But the caption on the negative reads "From left to right, Douglas Fairbanks Sr, Charlie Chaplin, Thomas Edison, Mary Pickford".

I also stumbled across the document linked above, confirming that they have met.

I don't know if the caption is accurate, but I presume it is.
